Q1

Junior running back Jared Colletti took off on just the second play from scrimmage for the Bears, running 91 yards to the house to put Coast Guard up early.

The drive lasted just two plays.

Coast Guard 7, Nichols 0.

Coast Guard’s offense only needed two plays, again, on their next drive, as junior running back Spencer McMillion went 63 yards to double their lead over the Bison.

Once again, the drive lasted two plays.

Coast Guard 14, Nichols 0.

Q2

A key punt return from junior wide receiver Jacob Wagner set up the Bears in great field position just outside the Nichols red zone. Two plays later, McMillion scored his second touchdown of the day on a 23-yard run to the house.

The drive lasted 29 yards on, again, two plays.

Coast Guard 21, Nichols 0.

Q3

Nichols sophomore running back Archie Killian refused to go down, bouncing off several Bears defenders and taking a 33-yard run into the endzone for the first Bison score of the afternoon.

The extra point was unsuccessful.

A clutch reception on the following drive from Coast Guard senior wide receiver Damaso Jaime set up a Bears field goal for 47 yards from junior kicker Finnegan Hall to extend the home team’s moderate lead.

Q4

A Logan Morris interception for Coast Guard set up the Bears offense at midfield to begin the fourth quarter. The drive stalled inside the Nichols red zone, leading to Hall’s second field goal of the afternoon.

Coast Guard 27, Nichols 6.

Another interception from Coast Guard freshman linebacker Ethan Lasher set up the Bears' next drive at their own 45-yard line. A key 34-yard pass from junior quarterback Tafari Wall to Jaime led to a touchdown from Wall to Jaime to finish the game for Coast Guard. The extra point was unsuccessful.

Final Score: Coast Guard 33, Nichols 6.

Coast Guard improves to 2-1, while Nichols falls to 2-1.
