Q1

After forcing Coast Guard to go 3-and-out on thier first possession, the Engineers offense got right to work. Quarterback Brendan Olexa led them down the field, completing all 5 of his pass attempts, including a 18-yard touchdown pass to Douglas Cain to get on the board first.

The drive went 75 yards on 10 plays, 5:19

Coast Guard 0, WPI 7

Coast Guard freshman quarterback Joe Armentrout then marched the Bears down the field in an impressive drive to the WPI 21 yard line. Armentrout found tight end Matt Ross for a completion at the 2, but Ross fumbled as he was hit and WPI recovered in the endzone to keep the Bears off the scoreboard.

Q2

WPI went right back to work and, again, drove down the field with ease. Olexa again connected with Cain in the endzone and just like that the Engineers were up by two touchdowns.

The drive went 80 yards on 15 plays, 15:15

Coast Guard 0, WPI 14

The Engineers defense again held the Bears to a 3-and-out before mounting their third scoring drive in as many possessions. This time running back Brandon Winn saw action as he got WPI down to the Coast Guard 12. The Bears defense finally stepped up and held the Engineers to a field goal.

The drive went 59 yards on 13 play, 6:31

Coast Guard 0, WPI 17

Q3

The second half opened with more WPI dominance, as running back Zachary Levy found a hole in the Coast Guard defense and went 44 yards to the endzone for the first Engineers' rushing score.

The drive went 68 yards on 5 plays, 2:10

Coast Guard 0, WPI 24

Armentrout connected with Jacob Wagner for a 24-yard completion, then a pass interference penalty against the Engineers moved the Bears deeper into WPI terriory. Armentrout then found Wagner again, this time for a 30-yard touchdown pass to end the shutout.

Finnegan Hall’s point after attempt was blocked.

The drive went 73 yards on 8 play, 2:45

Coast Guard 6, WPI 24

Coast Guard then forced the Engineers to punt for the first time in the game. But the Bears were unable to capitalize on the great field position as Armentrout was picked off at the WPI 20 yard line.

With the ball back, WPI's Levy again found a hole in the Bears defense and went for another 44-yard touchdown run.

The Drive went 59 yards on 4 plays, 2:09

Coast Guard 6, WPI 31

Q4

After a poor punt from Finnegan Hall from the CGA 10 gave WPI great field position the Engineers’ backup quarterback Andrew Nicklas hit Joe Coutcher for another touchdown.

The drive went 31 yards on 3 plays, 1:31

Coast Guard 6, WPI 38

Late in the game, with WPI playing reserves, the Coast Guard offense appeared ready to get their second score of the game as they marched all the way to the WPI 1 yard line. But running back Jared Colletti fumbled on the goal line and the Engineers recovered.

It was the second time in the game that the Bears fumbled at the goal line.

The fumble prevented the Bears from scoring more than 7 points in a game since Oct. 2.
